Ash Wooden Fenders by ODIN

Wooden Fenders by ODIN
Handmade in Belgium with Ash wood

First up I'd would like to state that I am not a formally trained woodworker. There are things that I can improve on in my craft but this project came out really nice so I decided to share it.

The main difficulty in making this product was bending the wood. At first I tried steam bending thin strips of solid wood, but I soon found they would not hold the desired curve after drying. Bent lamination turned out to be a much better method. Although it is difficult to see, these fenders are built up of three layers of Ash veneer.

It is important to first brand the logo into the top layer of Ash. The layers are then glued, clamped together tightly in a mold and then left to dry for 18 hours. Finally I clean up the edges, round the tips and finish the wood for outdoor use.

I hope you'll enjoy the pictures of the fenders as much as I enjoyed making them.
